City To Bay Training Pre-Season
Well it's almost time to start the 12 week City to Bay Training for this years event. This is the training that I and my fellow runners will be following.
First find yourself an place were you are comfortable in running, We use a local footy oval I find running the City to Bay Training on grass is a bit softer on your knees and other joints. The oval is 440 meters for one lap so the training will follow lap numbers and times.
Start out with 1 lap and aim for 2mins 45 sec
Your next target will be a 4 lap set in under 11mins
Your next target will be 2 sets in 22mins then 3 sets in 33mins getting to 6 sets in 66min this will be approx 12K's
Then on the day of the run you might be able to shave of those 6mins and do the whole run in under the hour, this is the ultimate goal (for me anyway )
